Augusta National Golf Course Detailed Information

Augusta National Golf Course - Picture

Augusta National is the home of the US Masters Tournament and probably the most famous golf course in the US.

No of Holes: 18

Length: 7290 yds

Par: 72

Standard: Major Championship

Type: Inland

Augusta National Golf Course was built on the site of the former fruitlands nusrsery and has continued with a horticultural tradition throughout its life. In the 1930's Louis Alphonse Berckmans brought in the plants from which the holes are named, although some were already in place many had to be specially planted.

The 18th hole (Holly) 465yd Par 4 is considered by many the hardest hole on the course and can often trip up a leader in the final round. Other difficult holes are the 9th (Carolina Cherry) and the 10th (Camellia)

The club is a private club with a very limited membership and as such Augusta National is not a course that many of us can aspire to playing.
