The senior of the to major courses at Wentworth, originally laid out in 1924, it is now overshadowed by the more famous west course.
No of Holes: 18

Built in 1924 by Harry Colt the East Course is a completely different kettle of fish to the more famous West Course. Famously in 1926 it was an unofficial match between Britain and the USA that was the forerunner of todays Ryder Cup. That event having been watched by Sam Ryder.
The course is laid out on Surrey heathland and the preponderance of heather makes the course tricky but ensures that the drainage is good and that the course plays well during the winter.
Particular holes of note are the 11th, a double dog-leg, poses particular difficulties even for the best while the 18th with its diagonal cross bunkers, is a fine finishing hole in that it puts a lot of stress on the second shot
