At the times of the equinoctial high tides, flocks of wild birds attract many bird watchers with their high-powered telescopes, binoculars and tripods on the edge of the Dee. The Wirral Country Park and Wirral Way, site of the old Neston to West Kirby railway, crosses the course. There are public footpaths across the course.
