The Glen View Course, as Burnley Golf Club is locally known is a challenging course, with a tight par for the amateur player. It is located on the Habergham Eaves moors which overlook Burnley and can be a fearsome opponent when the wind gets up.
Themost challenging hole on the course is the 5th, this par 4 has out of bounds all the way down one side and a water hazard (river) all the way across the fairway.
Founded in 1905 as a nine-hole course, the Glen View course was lengthened to 18 holes in 1914. In the following years the course has been continually upgraded, as has the clubhouse itself, making available modern facilities to members and visitors alike.
