Narin and Portnoo Golf Club, is situated in a beautiful seaside resort in southwest Donegal, 8 miles from Glenties. A previous layout (designed by Harry Hamill of Royal Portrush) on much of the site of the current club opened in 1905 but had ceased to exist by 1914. Launched officially in July 1930, Narin and Portnoo Golf Club is engagingly old fashioned, with a meandering routing over and around the dunes. The signature hole is the chasm-crossing 8th hole, a par three which leaves the player with no bale-out shot to a two-tier green. A recent course development should be open in the near future which will increase the par to 72. The nearest airports are Donegal International Airport at Carrickfin and City of Derry Airport in Co. Derry. Facilities include a practice net, locker rooms, putting green, golf shop, golf carts (25 euro), trolleys (3 euro) and club hire (20 euro). A warm friendly welcome awaits visitors and societies to Narin and Portnoo Golf Club and it is ideal for year-round golf.
