The West Course at Wentworth founded in 1926 is often known as the Burma Road (probably because the holes are narrow and wind through heavily wooded grounds - if anyone knows for definite then please let us know)
The course is the home of the world matchplay championship and every year you can see the top professional players at close quarters and follow them over two rounds in a day. Famous names from the matchplay include Gary Player (70s), Seve Ballesteros (80s) and Ernie Els (Contemporary) each winning on numerous ocasions.
Tough holes include the 13th and 15th on the back nine, though the final two holes are toothless par fives, where it is necessary to pick up shots to match the opposition.
