The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club was founded by eight gentlemen in 1891and the early years of the course were fraught with disputes with local townspeople and farmers. The course did attract the great Harry Vardon on a number of occasions and he held the course record in the 1900s
The course has good playable fairways and the local climate ensures that the course remains in good condition all year roud, though the wind can provide a serious challenge during the autmn and winter months.
Other trouble at the golf course is provided by undulating fairways and greens and numerous blind shots.
